The ReGen Health Centre

The ReGen Health Centre is situated on the outskirts of a village called Golubie, in a valley between two lakes. Lake Dabrowskie is just feet away from the Centre and it creates a natural mirror for the ever-changing colours and shapes of the sky above and trees surrounding it. The clarity and quality of the water is a haven for fish, sweet water crayfish and anglers. For guests from the Centre, the lake is an inspiration for an early morning swim, to paddle the shallows to increase blood circulation in the legs and feet or just a brisk 5 mile hike, cycling or horse riding around the lake path whenever you chose. The centre started life as a simple holiday location for people who were looking for rest and real peace in a beautiful & relaxing setting. Dr Ewa Dabrowska, who is behind the Centres current methods, wanted exactly this type of setting to put into practice her ideas and research. After twelve years the Health Centre is running at virtually full capacity the whole year round, necessitating the hiring of additional accommodation in the village. It is a pure coincidence that the lake is of the same name as the Doctor. The village is situated in the middle of a Natural Scenic Park & has essentials like a railway station, Post Office, Church, a restaurant, shop, botanical garden, and an old mill with its own bakery. Golubie lies in the Kashubian Region which is renowned for its mass of lakes and undulating countryside covered by pine and other forests. The northern part of this area has the Baltic coastline as its border. Gdansk is the capital of this region and this city must rate as one of the most beautiful medieval cities in central Europe. It is only 40 minutes away by road. This whole area is recognised as a powerful source of natural energy which is conducive to creative work, meditation and relaxation.Your time at the ReGen health centre is above all else a holiday and a great experience.

.The Food....

Within the main diets all fruit and vegetables are from organic sources. There is a slight tendency towards central European preparations, like dill cucumbers and buckwheat, but all our customers have found the food easily acceptable. Most of the ingredients used are available in health stores in the UK so that any new inclusions in your diet on return home can be obtained. There is no alcohol within the Centre. Excellent mineral waters are supplied at the Centre as part of the diet. The normal tap water is from a well and of supurb quality. The type of food intake in this programme is a vital aspect of us achieving our objectives. Participants can select a diet to suit their own individual requirements and their health. There is a choice of three diets as follows:

o
A cleansing diet consisting of vegetables and fruit only.
o
A fasting diet consisting primarily of liquids.
You have a choice of the number of days on this diet
o
A normal diet with certain exclusions such as meat.

You do not starve or even experience hunger, but on the contrary,
you will gain lots of energy and vitality.

Leisure Activities....

The area immediately around the centre is ideal for many activities. Walking tracks are everywhere and whether you are a casual or serious walker there are routes for everyone. Many of them are around the edges of lakes. There are walks each day as part of exercise and stretching under the supervision of an experienced trainer. Ambitious walkers can be provided with route maps. Mountain bikes are available for very small charges and use most of the same terrain as for hiking except that one can cover much greater distances. Horse riding is available nearby at very reasonable cost. It is wonderful to see people who have never ridden before acquire a reasonably good standard in such a short time. The lake provides opportunities for swimming and boats are available as a form of exercise or for fishing. All these activities contribute greatly to your fitness and well-being.

....Evenings....

During the long evenings of the summer, people are still enjoying the outdoors. There are TV facilities should anyone wish to watch and we normally keep some classic video films. Apart from that there are several evenings of demonstrations or lectures, from food and cooking to aspects of correct food intake. Massage and sauna make up the rest of the day.

.... Communications....

There are several telephones in the centre which may be used for outside contact with home and friends. Payphone cards are available from the office.

.... Individual Needs ....

We get couples or members of a family coming where only one person has a specific need for being at the centre on some dietary or medical ground. The centre tries to cater for the other person with as normal a diet as possible (with the exception of meat and alcohol). There is a restaurant in the village where people who cannot live without meat can satisfy their needs. Children are welcome with adults and seem to thrive in the environment.
